Description:
An outstanding and hardy selection with deep burgundy foliage. Color is best viewed in bright sun. (Zone 7b)

Grower Information:
Growers take our stage 3 plants and normally dibble them into a 105 cell tray. Any type of propagation or cutting plug mix should work. One grower uses Sunshine #1.

Another grower who has been quite successful with this plant shares the following tips. He takes the stage 3 rooted plants, sticks them into a plug tray and covers them with a plastic humid dome lid. These trays are then placed into his plug germination area under fluorescent lights. Trays stay in this area for up to 7 days, during which time the lids are slowly raised and eventually removed. The trays are then slowly introduced to the greenhouse bench. Trays stay in a shaded or misted area for 1-4 weeks (depending upon the time of year) - misting if needed initially during this transition.

This plant's finish time varies with the date it is initially stuck into the trays. Estimate 2-months if initially stuck in June, 3-months for April or September, and 4-months for October or November. For growing on plugs, figure 3- to 4-months if stuck in February or March, and 6-months if stuck in October or November.

Other tips... This plant grows slower than green Cordyline. Plan on growing this plant just like green Draceana spikes. You might see some tip burn if it is over fed.
